One outcome of my “adventures with plastic surgery” was a close up view of that no-man/woman’s land called “recovery” which, in my experience, is often downplayed or pooh-poohed. That, Oh, you’ll be back to work in a week may be true under certain conditions. For example, you wear a welder’s mask, a balaclava, a burka or work remotely. In my observation, that unsightly, uncomfortable and longer-than-anticipated stage of the healing process needed addressing, so naturally, I took on the task.
Optimal-Outcome® Rapid Healing Skincare was formulated to help accelerate healing and minimize bruising by incorporating the most effective, proven botanical ingredients help patients recover faster. My research for a “genius” formulator led me to MW Labs in Savannah, Georgia and its founder, the brilliant, slightly eccentric, but ever charming, Michael Warshaw.

With his passion, expertise and support I was able to create
BorellBeauty’s first collection of specialized quick healing and anti-bruise treatments for damaged skin to close the gap between pre-and-post for surgery patients and people that tend to bruise easily.
Doctors often refer to the result of procedures as “outcomes”, hence the brand name; Optimal-Outcome was chosen and trademarked.

With witty, quirky, product names like Bruise Control (bruise prevention), Body Builder (anti-bruise body lotion), Speed Repair, Skin Prep, Post Op, Shot Therapy (for injectables), Upkeep (maintenance for maturing skin), Show Off hands (ant-aging hand cream) and U-Veil (sun protection), I went public, selling on ecommerce both on www.optimal-outcome.com and ww.makemeheal.com.
By far, the most popular was products were Speed Repair and Body Builder Anti-Bruise Body Lotion, for which I got such glowing reviews as “your product changed my life!”
Here’s me accepting the ICMAD (Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors Association) award for Best New Skincare Product. Ironically, the caption lead many to assume I was a body builder despite that fact that no signs of muscle tone could be detected. The year is now 2004.
